It is so hard to believe that I have been blessed with my Cecilia Rose for 5 years already. While she is so big and able, she is still my little baby goose. We often reminisce of cradling her in my arms, her sucking her thumb, or hearing her footsteps in the night dragging her pink blankie behind her. For her first 3 years she was so very shy and was always by my side in public. In this last year, she has cracked that shell wide open and makes friends easily and has no problem talking to adults either. While Cecilia was four she conquered so many fears. She has learned to ride a two wheeler, buckle her seat belt and will finally go down tube slides.
Cecilia is very kind and a good friend. She is very sensitive and wants affection on her terms only. Cecilia is an avid craft-er and has an amazing imagination. She is beginning to sound out small words but is a bit apprehensive about the challenge of learning to read. Cecilia attends pre-kindergarden at the local elementary school every day. She takes the bus to and from school and is away from home for about 3 1/2 hours. Cecilia also attends Sunday school. Her sports/activities vary by season, in the past year she has had a lot of fun in gymnastics, swimming, basketball, soccer and ice skating. There is no better big sister than Cecilia. She is kind, helpful and love loves to play with her little sister. Like most little sisters Cecilia wants her big brother's attention and with often go at naughty lengths to get it! That being said, Cecilia rarely needs formal discipline and is very sad when she receives a time-out or a swat on her bottom.
Last night before bed, she started making a mental list of all the things she is going to do when she's five like, tie her shoes, go down water slides, learn to read and write and so much more. We thank God for the five years he has blessed us with Cecilia and pray for so many more healthy years ahead!
